CDL Class A Driver

🚛 Position Overview

A CDL Class A Driver is responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport waste over local, regional, or long-haul routes. This role requires strict adherence to federal and state transportation regulations, punctual delivery, and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate semi-trucks to deliver waste to designated locations.
Conduct pre-trip, enroute, and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Load and unload cargo, securing loads according to company and legal
standards.
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, deliveries, and vehicle
maintenance using electronic logging devices (ELDs).
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers
regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues.
Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies.
Report accidents, incidents, or mechanical issues promptly.
Perform basic vehicle maintenance and assist with minor roadside repairs as needed.
Adhere to assigned routes and schedules while maintaining timely delivery of goods.
Ensure professional and courteous interactions with customers during pickups and deliveries.

Qualifications

Valid CDL Class A license.
Clean driving record and ability to pass background checks, pre-employment as well as random drug screenings, and physical examinations as required.
Minimum age requirement (typically 21 years old).
Knowledge of DOT regulations, safety procedures, and vehicle inspection protocols.
Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Experience with electronic logging devices and GPS navigation preferred.
Valid medical examiners certificate.
